In accordance with PA Title 18, any minor seeking body piercing services must be accompanied by a PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN. Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. are NOT legally authorized to sign for any minor.  Kutters Edge did not create this law, but it is upheld here. So bring mom or dad & make sure they have their valid ID on hand.

Identification POLICY:

All persons seeking body piercing services, and/or their parent/legal guardian, must have valid and legal photo identification. Minors are not required to have ID but must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian.

We accept the following, no exceptions or substitutions:

State ID Card     US Passport     Real ID     State Driver's License     US Military ID     Permanent Resident Card

FACILITIES: No open food/Drink; no animals

Aseptic Technique is always our piercing procedure goal, so PLEASE do not bring open containers of food or beverages into the studio. Blood and skin can become an airborne pathogen due to the nature of this industry, and therefore are a risk to open containers.

We also do not allow dogs, cats, reptiles or any other pets in the studio at any time. Animal hair and dander creates an airborne risk of contamination to the piercing skin puncture services of this studio. The risks from reptiles, birds and other non-fur-bearing animals is that of salmonella or other contact contaminants. These risks are a greater concern than any other, as it is that of the health and welfare of all studio clientele. Please be respectful of this restriction.

Metal standards:

Kutters Edge only uses ASTM Surgical implant-grade F-138 Steel or F-136 Titanium for implantation during initial piercing. The grades of jewelry for healed piercings varies, typically 316-L or 316-LVM Steel. The reason we insist on this high-quality of material is that it has a very minimal impact on the immune-reaction of the skin as it is healing around the metal. Skin is programmed to reject all foreign objects, so it is important to have as minimal a footprint with implant jewelry as possible in order for the skin to grow AROUND the metal instead. Pretty amazing feat...

Pricing & returns:

We strive to keep costs down and pricing as low as possible - without sacrificing cleanliness or quality. Piercing prices have not been raised at Kutters Edge in over 5 years, and we hope it can remain that way.  However, pricing can change based on spikes in the price of surgical steel and titanium, as market-determined.

A discount is given when two or more of a specific piercing are being done in the same session. No other discounts are routinely offered, but specials are sometimes offered in conjunction with promotions or piercing staff training sessions. These specials will be promoted via social media avenues.

Body jewelry cannot be returned. Kutters Edge will, however, replace items in the rare occurrence of a manufacturing defect. A receipt is required and dated within 30-days of purchase. In consideration of dangling, decorative navel jewelry - we offer free repairs if all parts are presented. However, it is suggested that these items not be worn when sleeping, as they are not made to withstand that type of stress. We can also repair jewelry purchased outside of the studio for a reasonable price. We are good like that...

STaff requirements:

To protect the health and welfare of our clientele, Kutters Edge staff members are not permitted to wear nail polish or any type of false nails. Natural, clean nails kept to a safe length are necessary to ensure both glove integrity and adherence to aseptic technique.

Piercing staff members at Kutters Edge are fully trained in professional body piercing. Sometimes a staff member will be training to be a body piercer -- all clientele will be notified of this fact BEFORE services are provided and will be given the option to opt for a fully trained staff member to provide services. Training services are provided, at the option of the adult client, at a discount of 50%. We fully respect the wishes of our clientele in this selection - it is YOUR body and only YOUR choice as to whom provides your services.

Staff piercers are also required to have current Blood Bourne Pathogen training certification, as well as the options for CPR and First Aid Training. We infrequently deal with clients that have adverse reactions to the act of getting pierced and we are committed to knowing how to care for the situation in a calm and knowledgeable manner. Experience IS a new level of care...

24-HOUR CONTACT POLICY:

Piercing healing is not always an easy adventure. Some people have sensitive skin or very strong immune systems. Sometimes stuff just happens - a dog jumps on you or your best friend bumps your piercing during a hug or your new nose ring gets stuck on a towel... Such is life for we pierced humans.

With these things in mind, Kutters Edge offers free follow-up care services during the course of the healing period. Certain piercings take varying lengths of time to complete the healing process, but well trained staff are available to assist when needed. This care extends to the first, healed changing of jewelry, as well. The studio policy is for contact to be made within 24-hours of the onset of any issues with healing. The simplest form of this contact is to text the studio, or message via FaceBook. However, often there may be issues with technology that limit availability, so make sure to fully utilize the resources on this website to gain advice based on studio policies and experience. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Just remember to NOT panic or do anything until you hear back from a staff member. The internet is not a reliable tool for finding the right avenue of care for your piercing -- that's OUR job... Let us help you heal.
