Swimming & Bathing

Swimming is super fun! But can be risky for new, healing piercings - from potential infections to forgetting to protect them from damage. But dunking in the bathtub is also super risky. Who would have thought that, right?! lol And the major issue is small particles getting into the healing piercing (wound). So here are some simple things to consider:

Pool Swimming: usually safe, but watch out for cloudy water or water parks (notoriously gross!)

Lakes, creeks, oceans, rivers: Well… I call these “fish toilets”, enough said… You can go IN but do not go UNDER

Bath Time: tub baths are fun - especially dunking under - but the tub water is literally filled with dead skin and other particles, so consider carefully

Hot Tubs: Public - NEVER!! Private - Ok as long as the piercing is not submerged in the water (see bath tub risks and then triple it!)
